Angry birds

For these adorable hats I just made a basic hat but varied my colwots to match the colors of the desired bird.

Cast on 80 stitches. I used a size 8 16" circular needle.
Knit 2x2 ribbing for about 2 inches, but your ribbing can be more or less. It's sorta a personal preference.
Switch to stockinette stick. Knot until hat measures 5 to 5.5 inches from cast on for an adult.
Then begin your decreases. I began by knitting 7 then slippinging as if to knit, then knitting one and then binding off the stitch that I slipped right before. You could just knit 2 together as well. I repeated this all the way around. Then on next round I decreased my number of knit stocked betwee the decrease by one. So I knit six and then decreases. Then next row I knit 5 and then decreased and so on until I only had 5 stocked left. I used a tapestry needle and threaded my yarn through these last stitches and finished it off.
As you begin to decrease you will need to switch to double pointed needles.

For the beak, cast on 24 stitches to size 7 double pointed needles. Knit two rounds. On the third round begin by knitting 2 together, then knit 10, then knit 2 together, then knit 10. On next round knit 2 together, then knit 9, decrease, knit 9. Continue alike this until you have 4 stitches remaining and finish off using a tapestry needle.

For the feathers ontop of the head I cast on 8 to size 7 double pointed needles and knitted until the desired height was reached. Then I decreased to 4 stitches and finished it off.

The eyes are made from felt.
